Kinghorn Community Donations 2017

We continue to be astounded by the popularity of our event within the running community.  On-line entries again sold sold out in record time.  For the 2017 event we continued to be supported by local Kinghorn businesses - The Carousel, Scotia Gas Care and Scotia Bathrooms.   We are also very grateful for the continued support of Run and Become, Myrtle Espresso and Briggs Marine and are delighted to add another local business, Black Rock Roofing, to our sponsors.

A special mention must be made of William Bros. Brewing who extended their sponsorship of the event and to the excellence of the ales enjoyed on the night!

At the time of writing, 6th March 2018, we have been able to support the following local groups.

  • £100 to Kinghorn Brownies who did the pre-race leaflet drop.
  • £100 to Kinghorn Tennis Club to aid their 90th anniversary anniversary celebration.
  • £100 donation to the Primary School Summer Fayre.
  • £50 donation to the Church Halls, in addition to to hall rents.
  • £284 to Kinghorn RNLI to supply and sell burgers on the night enabling
  • £350 to Burntisland First Aid Ambulance Service who provide our essential First Aid Cover;
  • £500 supporting the work of Kinghorn in Bloom;
  • £500 to the Kinghorn Library Renewed programme;
  • £282 donation to help establish a Kinghorn service for Footcare Fife;
  • £500 donation to Kinghorn Community Centre;
  • £500 donation to the Kinghorn Playparks project;
  • £300 to Kinghorn Historical Society who need more storage!;
  • £298 to Kinghorn Scout Group to purchase new tents for use by the group.

Tha's a very staisfying total of almost £4000 donated to local causes from the 2017 event.

As Race Director I extend my sincere thanks to the host of volunteers who continue to get involved and to the local community who turn out in such great numbers to support every runner on the streets and sand!
