Community Donations 2018

2018 saw another successful event, with a remarkable turn out of local support for the runners of both the Fun Run and the Black Rock '5'.

I’d like to extend my gratitude to the new owners of the Harbour View Bar and Bistro who wholeheartedly supported our event in their first year of trading.  We’re also extremely grateful for the continued support of our sponsors: Myrtle Espresso, Black Rock Roofing, Briggs Marine, Run and Become, Scotia Gas Care, Scotia Bathrooms – and of course Williams Brothers Brewery.

Due to the success of last year’s race and the generosity of our sponsors, we’re delighted to have made the following donations to local community organisations:

  1. £350 to Burntisland First Aid Ambulance Trust for provision of first aid cover for the race
  2. £100 to Kinghorn Brownies for doing the pre-race leaflet drop to the residents most inconvenienced by the road closures necessary for the safety of the event on the night
  3. £600 to Kinghorn in Bloom towards the Village Show
  4. £300 to Kinghorn Historical Society
  5. £500 to the Kinghorn Library Renewed project
  6. £300 to Kinghorn Children’s Gala
  7. £500 to Kinghorn Community Centre
  8. £300 to support the ongoing publication of the Kinghorn Chronicle
  9. £100 donation to Kinghorn Parish Church of Scotland Autumn Fayre
  10. £250 donation to Kinghorn Lunch Club
  11. £250 donation to support the Kinghorn Playparks project
  12. £250 to Kinghorn Primary School to purchase new football strips
  13. £250 to support the provision of Fife Footcare in the village
  14. £220 to Kinghorn in Bloom supporting their 10th anniversary celebration
  15. £300 contribution to new signage for Kinghorn Parish Church of Scotland

That’s almost £4,500 raised by the running community, donated to our local community.   As race director, I remain indebted to the huge crew of volunteers who make the event possible, and I look forward to another great event in 2019.
